That's right, we picked names for our baby. What are they? Well, we're not telling anyone. You'll find out when the little kid is born. HOWEVER, other exciting news is that our fetus also has a name now! What is a fetus name? Well, it's a name you give your fetus so that you don't have to keep calling it "he or she" or "it" or "the baby" or some other name that takes forever and doesn't seem to do it justice anyway. Many people call it "bean" or "peanut" or "bump" for that reason, but others come up with a real name...SO...Following a family tradition, Brad and I have been working on finding a fetus name that we could be happy with for the next 7 months or so and it's been more of a struggle than the names we like for our child after birth, if you can believe that!
I've felt a little like a poor parent for taking so long to name our fetus, but today I realized that it was just this week that our baby graduated from an embryo to a fetus anyway, so really, we're right on time with a fetus name. What is it, you may all be wondering... it's Stretch. Why? Because - our baby will probably be pretty long when it's born, because it's constantly growing and stretching right now inside me, because it's going to make me grow and stretch, because it's stretching us as people, and will continue to stretch and challenge us as parents for the rest of our lives. Because this experience is a stretch for us, because of so many things. Stretch. We were sitting in bed last night, and both just decided we really liked it. It works for both of us, and that's the long and short of it.
